Arriving at Finca La Anita
We arrived at Finca La Anita after a long morning of traveling, starting at 3am. We all found different times to catch up on some lost sleep. Once we reached Costa Rica, we piled into buses and went out for lunch. The chicken, beans, and rice were delicious to our empty stomachs. The two hour drive to the ranch was full of twists and turns, filled with beautiful scenery. Our first day at Finca Anita was short but sweet. We met the owner, Pablo, as well as some of the workers. We were assigned our cabins, and spent time making new friends from Wayzata. Dinner was held in the big dining hall, where we had fish, potatoes, and vegetables. To close out the night, we played cards with the group while waiting for our book discussion on insects of the tropics. We are very excited to start our research tomorrow, and are happy to go to bed in a safe, beautiful resort.
